Below the Mason Dixon Line...

Well here we are in Red Bay Alabama, we are at the Tiffin Factory Service Center getting some warranty work done and also taking the Tiffin Factory tour, I'd just as soon not be here in the Deep South but the low voltage reading has not gone away and it's a critical fix, and since Nashville is only 180 miles from here we figured we'd go ahead and do it here. They have a campground (well really a BIG ASS parking lot) with full hookups so you can stay in the RV while waiting for the service...and at least the weather hasn't been too bad, it's been cloudy and cool (well at least cool at night, we've been able to shut off the AC while sleeping).

Entering Alabama, Governor Kay Ivey took over for the other guy
when he got caught diddling his secretary who was not his wife...he's
a Republican so he really didn't need to quit over that but he also got caught
bribing the Chief of the Alabama State Troopers to not tell his wife...

The BIG ASS parking lot...

Yesterday we went to Natchez Trace National Parkway, it's an actual National Park that is a road that runs for 440 miles from Natchez to Nashville, if it was in Texas they'd call it the Natchez Trail but for some reason in the Deep South they call it a Trace...anyway it's a bitchen cool NP and I am amazed they were able to carve out 440 miles of a scenic roadway without any civilization intruding much, there's numerous crossroads but the Trace bridges over the top of about all of them, and, it has its own bridge across the Tennessee River!
The Parkway-not another car in sight!
Coming up to the river...

The Tennessee River...

Now the downside, every historical marker or roadside monument we stopped at was basically this: "John McGillicuddy was a rancher and a farmer and had a Stand (southern for hotel) near here, this wash/road/creek/river is named after him, he was an upstanding member of the community and had 250 slaves that helped him work the land" and right there I'm thinking "what is wrong with these people" and it is very wrong whatever it is...every last one of those monuments should be torn down and ground into dust...

Wrong Way LA - Wondering Around LACMA

Posters around Miracle Mile advertised that Chagall was at LACMA through January 7th using this image: The exhibit was for  Chagall's music and dance designs . Thanks to a wonderful Christmas gift of a museum membership I was able to go with a couple of friends. Before we hit the Chagall exhibit though for some strange reason I wanted to check out this painting: It's a painting entitled "The Magdalen with the Smoking Flame" by Georges de la Tour. For some reason this painting fascinated me. We stood in front of it and stared for quite some time. It was interesting how we each interpreted the masterpiece. There were so many nuances that it took quite a bit of time to really get the feeling of it. We all observed the fact that it looks like she's pregnant, and were fascinated by tracing the rope around her waste to the blocks on the floor - drowning herself, perhaps? But the weirdest thing was the way The Magdalen looks almost doll-like in the painting. ...

The Other World of Breath Work

Rebecca, the queen of the breath (you can check her out at the  TheBreathZone.com ), always starts her class by reminding you what can happen both physically and mentally when you do breathwork. She’s talked about people having an out of body experience. I would love to go there on a breathwork journey but I’ve never been able to leave my body. I have had one instance where my body and I were moved to follow a different path. I think it was only my 2nd or 3rd time doing breathwork and either my 1st or 2nd time with Rebecca. It took me a long time to do breathwork properly so I’m not sure how it happened. Laying next to me on the floor was a guy breathing. Only I don’t think he was doing it properly - especially since I’ve never heard anyone ever do it again. To me, it sounded like he was moaning sexually, almost panting. It started to irritate me and I took a deep breath and told myself that I needed to train my mind to ignore all outside influences so back to breathwork I went. A...

RV Parks

Well, Rusty and I have been to a lot of RV parks in the last few months (we're back in Malibu as of this afternoon - we don't have as good as a spot as we got last time, but it's okay). Most of parks we've stayed at have been KOA. These typically all have the same things and you kind of know what to expect. The other parks we've stayed at have been Good Sam. Same thing with these, they have their "signature" amenities as well. Then there have been some total one offs - like Pecan Valley RV Park that I loved. Last night we stayed in a Thousand Trails campground in Indio. We've been in one of these before when we went with Sharon and Peter up to Yosemite. I can tell you that the one near Yosemite was about 1,000 times nicer than the one in Indio that we stayed in last night. It was definitely an older park. Mostly sand spots, with a cement or asphalt pad to park your car and a picnic table. The campground was right off the I10 so all Rusty and I wanted...
